Citations of articles by Russian economists in top international journals: aspects of attractiveness of domestic developments
Abstract
Citing articles in bibliographical databases is one of the indicators of research quality. The actual information about citations of some notable articles by Russian economists published recently in top international journals is analyzed. It is established that the quantity and the quality of these citations prove attractiveness of domestic developments to the world academic community. The citing publications are often similar by general field to the cited articles, but the former may represent some adjacent fields and even sciences. It is notable that the relatively low amount of citations of the considered articles comes from representatives of the Russian science and also workers of the leading world universities from some countries with well-developed economics. As practical recommendations, it is suggested to create information channels of academic influence in Russia and outside and also to strengthen publishing activity of domestic economists.
